The AKYTEC ITP11 is a panel-mount process indicator that reads a standard 4-20 mA current loop and displays the value on a red LED digital readout — without needing its own power supply. It draws the small amount of current it needs directly from the loop it’s measuring, causing a voltage drop of roughly 4V that most transmitters are designed to tolerate. This loop-powered design removes an entire wiring run per device compared to auxiliary-powered indicators, which matters on panels carrying a dozen or more loops.

How It Works

The ITP11 sits in series with the 4-20 mA loop between the transmitter and the controller or PLC. As the loop current varies between 4 mA (0% of range) and 20 mA (100% of range), the indicator scales that value to the engineering units configured during setup — pressure, temperature, flow, or whatever the loop represents — and shows it on the display. Because it taps the loop rather than an independent power feed, removing or adding an ITP11 to a panel doesn’t interrupt the loop’s connection to the rest of the control system.
